I own a Lenovo X300 with a built in mobile broadband card (Sierra MC8775). I have rung both lenovo (three times) and Exetel once about support for connecting.
This is what I have done.
1. I have activated the sim card as per the instructions, and my account is active. (three days in fact).
2. I have tried using the Sierra Watcher and Access Connections software, but to no avail.
3. I have recognition of the network (Optus) and I have used the correct settings4.
4. The lenovo technician this morning said that I would get an error if the card was locked and because I did not get an error stating this then the card cannot be locked ?
As I mentioned before i can view the network but it will not connect.
Here is a screen dump of the error.
Can someone please assist, I have been trying for three days to connect.
Cheers Tony

Re: Help connecting to HSPA using MC8775 in Australia
I have it in the back of my mind that the Optus 3G network uses a connection profile which does not completely align with the 3G profile defaults in Access Connections, but I don't recall what the difference is... possibly something in the CHAP settings area.
You might want to do a hunt around on Whirlpool for information on Exetel connection profiles.
Cheers,
Bill B.

You may know this but just passing along in case it helps
I successfully activated an internal mini-PCI Sierra SPRINT card in my X200 (logged elsewhere in this forum)- and it doesn't show up in the Access Connections; I use the Sprint smart view app to control/activate the card. I've never used Access connections- so the fact that your card does not show up in Access Connections is not necessarily a problem/show stopper.
