Dimensions of the 4 cell and 6 cell battery?

#1 Post by warreng24 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:14 am

Can anyone confirm that the 4 cell (43R9253) and the 6 cell (43R9254) battery share the same physical dimensions?

I know that the 9 cell battery sticks out from the rear.

The 4-cell and 6-cell batteries for the X20x[/s] have the same "footprint". The 6-cell battery is a little thicker. See below:

In addition, the 6-cell, will raise the X200, a lil' of the perky side. :P Although I must say, it does help create a nice slant angle for typing.

Now : Thinkpad X200.

Just to add to the above, the 6 cell battery is like the 9 cell but without the three cells protruding from the back. The 4 cell fits flush with the bottom of the X200/X200s, hence the additional feet on the bottom of the laptop.

The 9 cell battery is much better VFM than either of the other batteries, whilst the 4 cell is obviously much lighter. The 6 cell, in my opinion, is a bit of a curate's egg. I use a 9 cell battery (I have 2 of them) for when I need to use my X200s all day and not bother about finding a power outlet, and the 4 cell when I want to travel light or use it for extended periods on my lap... X200s weighs 1.3kg with the 4 cell and considerably heavier with the 9 cell (206g vs 510g, with the 6 cell coming in at 330g).
