T410i series

#1 Post by ashat » Tue Apr 06, 2010 4:47 pm

I have just discovered the existence of a T410i series on the italian market.
Does anybody here know something about the quality of this series?

I am considering this particular machine (price about 1.300 Euros here in Italy).

I have a trusted source within Lenovo that I consult with on new models. I'm told this is a very good alternative to the more expensive T series models. Featuring the Intel Core i3 processors, is one reason that Lenovo can keep the pricing lower. At some point I will purchase one so I can do a side by side comparison.

the description of this specific 2518-FMG looks better than some review of general T410i, both about the processor and the graphics.
is this an Intel Core i5, or not an Intel?

It's Intel Core i5. Interesting - I thought the i-series was supposed to be i3 only, but that's the second example I've seen of a T410i with an i5 (the first time Lenovo's site had the model as a regular T410, though).

here the complete specs (I am not able to find it on the lenovo site)

It looks even slim as the T410s.

The T410i was listed on the Lenovo USA site this morning, but has since been removed. A rather typical (no explanation) random move by Lenovo.

Contributing back to the community by a lurker ;)

Here in Hong Kong, Lenovo's in-store sales brochure just came out with the T410 series, and guess what, it listed the full specs of T410i !

Yes, T410i is a budget machine:
Intel Core i3-330M CPU (2.13 GHz, 3 MB Cache)
Win7 Professional
Intel QM57 Express chipset
14.1" WXGA (1280x800)
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 3100M graphics card (256 MB)
320 GB hard drive (5400 RPM)
Multi-Burner DVD+-RW
LAN/v.92 modem connections
Intel 1000 802.11 BGN
PCI Express
5-in-1 card reader
Bluetooth, Fingerprint reader
2MP video camera

Significantly, T410i is the SAME SIZE as T410, at 335.5mm X 239mm X 28-32mm (2.3 kg)

Hope that answers your question ;)

It looks like this is the 2516 model machine specs.
While here in Italy they are selling the 2518 machine, with the better configuration (and probably the size of the T410s) I am reporting in the previous messages.

Here's a question: I ordered the lighter T410i i5 2518-FGM with an NVIDIA GeForce 130M. My trader sent me the heavier T410i i5 2518-FGM with an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 3100M. The heavier model is also more expensive, but I've got no idea why. Should I inform my trader or should I keep my heavier T410i? What do you think? :)

Edit: I'm being told that the lighter GeForce 130M model doesn't actually exist. Is there a lighter T410i (1.77kg) at all? Or is the 2.3kg version the only T410i in existence? Confusing! :|

 Bad Luck..You are not in Crazy U.S.A.You could keep the machine and sue them for not providing what you ordered ..depriving you of a suitable work environment and waht not...
...Only problem is if the seller has your foto and other ID information He may sell that information
to others to mark you as sheer Bad Luck...
Cheers.. :D

Here in Italy the T410i seems to be sold with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M, and in the 1.8kg version.

but still I can't find the specs on the Lenovo site.

It's really weird, isn't it? All over Europe, there's this mysterious 1.8kg T410i that doesn't seem to exist. There's the T410si at the official site, but that's got completely different specs.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone who ordered 2518-FGM actually received it yet? Can anyone confirm the specs? I am thinking about getting one for myself but only if the specs published on various websites hold (i5 CPU, 1440 res, 1300M GPU and T410s-like dimensions).

Hi Guys,

Still no news on this one? I am almost sure that the specs published on various retail sites are fake. I'm writing from Denmark where the alleged model's number is NT7FNMD and some websites claim it has GT 130M graphics card, while other say it has Quadro NVS 3100M. Also they don't seem to agree on the weight (1.8kg vs 2.4kg) and size. Not to say I would only buy this laptop if it had the 130M and smaller weight. This is totally confusing and looks like Lenovo doesn't bother to straighten that out!

Googling around brings NT7FMUK which looks very interesting but is possibly fake too. Any one from the UK that could confirm those specs (I mean has ordered the laptop and checked that it really is what they say, not read the specs in a lenovo newsletter or something)?.

I just ordered a T410i from the US website last week.. aside from the specs, my understanding is that it's the exact same as T410

I think retailers are just confused ever since lenovo came out with the t410i..

there is now T410, T410i, T410s, T410si.. it's really not that hard to understand but I guess it is for some retailers.
