MC8775 - how to enable WCDMA 850 band?

#1 Post by hepiL » Thu Apr 08, 2010 7:25 am

Hi

Just would like to ask your help on how turn on / enable the WCDMA 850 and/or 1900 band on my Lenovo brand mc8775. The card is installed on X60s, BIOS patched using Zender's and PIN20 taped.

all i can get from the hyperterminal AT!BAND=? command is WCDMA 2100

I've been spending days on this forum, Google, downloading and flashing the firmware so many times, asking some of you that have successfully access the 850 band for tips, but none works on my mc8775.

It works nicely in 2100 and also at 7.2mbps - so the only problems is getting 850 band works.

Is this because my card is the non-850 band version? is there such thing? after reading people's different thought, some said there is a Europe version, US version, Asia version etc. my conclusion is that all cards ware manufactured to operate in wcdma 850, 1900 and 2100, NOT ONLY EITHER OF THEM.

So your help and suggestion is very appreciated here :) and thanking you in advance

I don't know much about your particular card, but I use similar commands to change the band in my Sierra Wireless 881 AirCard.

at!band=00 [all bands]
at!band=02 [HSDPA 3G band]
at!band=04 [GSM 2G EDGE/GPRS band]

EDIT: No, I don't know how to specify 850 vs 1900 vs all.

EDIT2: Here you can download an AT command reference from Sierra Wireless.
