Audio recording overmodulated

#1 Post by C.Schlehaus » Mon Feb 28, 2005 9:10 am

Hi,
having fixed the failure not recodring anything, I'm now encountering that connecting the line out of e.g. my TV USB caputre box to the mic-in on my TP42p causes overmodulation in the audio signal even having the volume regulator in the soundmixer on low level (mic-boost set to OFF). Do I have to put somewhat an attentuator in between the line out and the mic-in of my T42p or is there some additional software setting I miss to use?

Thanks a lot, Carlhermann

did you look at the microphone volume settings in sound devices in advanced or something like that in the control panel?

Hi,
I've opened the sound devices (double click on speaker in taskbar), added the microphone to the standard view (in extended mode). The microphone is the only one having an additional button "Extended", which opens another window for activation / deactivation the Mic-Boost (which is deactivated). The sound level reacts to the volume control microphone, while I need to set it to the lowest tick mark to prevent overmodulation. Nevertheless the recorded file still has some overmodulation...

Sincerely, Carlhermann
