I am having this odd problem on my x200, x300 and x301. I have installed Windows 7 (clean install) with all the necessary lenovo drivers. On screen display works for both volume and screen brightness.
I have installed Thinkvantage Power Manager on each machine (which I have used for years under Vista and XP - love the program).
The issue under Windows 7 is this: Screen brightness is set at 8 on battery power, and Full (15) on AC power. If I remove the AC adaptor the screen brightness goes down as supposed to. If I then shut down the computer and restart on AC power, the screen settings for AC power are changed to whatever battery is (in this case, screen brightness is now at 8 ). This is super annoying. It also seems to happen in other permutations (AC screen settings being flipped with battery settings, and so forth).
Is there anyone who has has a similar problem and able to find a fix?
Many thanks.
