True Image 9.0 vs 2010

#1 Post by dlbeaty » Wed Apr 14, 2010 8:16 am

Some reviews I read that the new for-vista version was overbloated. Vs 9 seems to have all that I want, including compatiblity going back to Win98.

The WD Edition appealed to me if I buy a WD HD, but I understand that it will only work with the WD disks.

Any recommendations?

I use 9.5 Workstation Echo on everything from XP Pro to Windows 7 (including 64-bit). Even though Win 7 explicitly blocks it (you have to rename the .exe file to something like TIW.exe), it appears to work fine both within Windows and standalone.

I tried the 2010 version, and yes, it's bloated, and the UI is totally different now. Blech.

I was a TI user but have since switched to Macrium Reflect. I'm considering whether to pay for it, but so far the free version is suffice for my needs.

Cheers.
