Strange problem when using IBM Access Connection

#1 Post by firstep » Mon Feb 28, 2005 5:40 pm

Hi, there. I have a strange problem when using IBM Access Connection to manage my wireless in different places (home, office, etc). The problem is that every time when I use IBM Access Connection, the IE home page always automatically becomes "http:///".

My default setting is blank. Then I find in IE -> Internet Options -> General -> Home Page, the original "about:blank" disappears and there's nothing in that column, even after I lock the home page in Registry.

Anyone has ever experience this problem? What does "http:///" mean? I googled but got nothing about that extra slash. It's really weird.

There is a setting in Access Connections in every profile for Home Page. Check there. The independent profile settings in AC are mostly a blessing, but sometime a curse. Another AC curse is that it wants to set up Windows Firewall in each profile. That nailed me once. Got to the profile, look up Properties and check every setting in every tab to make sure it is what you think. ... JD Hurst
