Which DVI on Dock II

#1 Post by andyli » Mon Feb 28, 2005 6:23 pm

I have the IBM Dock II for the T42p. I had an old Samsung LCD, but the DVI cables/port was apparently not the same. I understand there are multiple types of DVI connections now (DVI-A; DVI-D and a few others), but haven't been able to figure out what DVI connection the Dock II uses.

I'm looking at getting the Dell 2001FP 20.1 inch screen, which I have heard does work at 1600x1200, as long as I "roll back" my drivers. Right now, I see the monitor at 561.75 (Education Pricing) and after tax (free shipping), at 595.46. Is that a good price? Are there any stackable coupons right now?

Thanks!

I'm using a DVI-D cable between my Dock II and my 2001FP.

You can get the 2001FP for $507. See this link: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview ... erthread=y

I wish I had looked only a few weeks ago -- to get the $507. Now, with the automatic 25% off the monitor, they are no longer allowing any coupons to apply to the monitor :(

I suppose I might wait a little longer to see if it decreases a little more with their recent 24" release.
