x201

#1 Post by BatangX » Fri Apr 16, 2010 3:14 pm

I have a X201 with XP SP3 installed. Having trouble with 2 devices:
1) Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus &
2) PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller.

I've tried every driver from Lenovo's website but none of the drivers install for these 2 devices! Anyone have any idea where I can get the drivers for these?

Thanks

If you saved the SWTools folder from your factory install, it contains all the apps and drivers installed on your X201, you could try that. System or Windows Update are other options.

Why the retro "up" grade? Back to the future with XP when you can run W7 with XP virtualization?

This is my first post on here and what a corker to fix... I have had the exact same issues and eventually after 2 days with googling all over the world finally solved them both...

first off download this file: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/18924/a ... _14421.exe

run the file and you need to look in your temp directory, im using Vista as my main pc so the directory was found in C:\Users\*ACCOUNTNAME*\AppData\Local\Temp\pftB8DA~tmp

you dont need all the files extracted, just the directory called "ibxHDMI". there is 3 files contained within called IntcDAud.cat, IntcDAud.inf and IntcDAud.sys

this one was a pain to find , this one took me the longest to track down.. but weirdly is on the lenovo site

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 74404.html

the file is called 6iza02ww.exe and when extracted creates a MSI to install

hope this helps mate, any problems let me know and ill do my best to help out further...

p.s check out this wiki site i found on my travels , seems pretty good

Thanks for your help. The first driver for the Audio worked. But the driver for the second device, 'PCI DAta Acquisition...' didn't work.

Tried installing it using the MSI file but no go. The search continues.

Mutley,

I found the drivers for the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing controller. It's actully located in the Video Driver folder from Lenovo's website. The driver files are located in a folder called IIPS. WHen the driver installs it's called Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver!!

Turbo Boost is a new feature found in i7 and i5 processors. Under certain circumstances the CPU will increase its frequency beyond its nominal one. It's generally called "dynamic overclocking". This sort of sofware/cpu overclocking dynamic has been around for years on AMD and intel platforms though. For example, ASUS Ai Booster

Hi all, this was very useful but I am still missing one driver. I have an unkiwn device on a new X201 with XP. It's listed as the "SM Bus Controller" which I thought was the intel chipset support but installing that from lenovo doesn't help. Does anyone know which driver I need?

Thanks in advance, Rob.

I'm advocating using the Lenovo System Update but you can check this out and maybe use at your own risk http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-013541.htm

Jammie ... Any luck with this driver?
We called Lenovo support , they said that their XP Recovery CD would fix the issue but that they did not know which driver was missing.
£40 for a CD...
Another forum suggested a clean xp install and make sure that the Chipset was the FIRST driver you install (yet to try this ...)
