#1 Post by metatron » Sat Apr 17, 2010 10:41 am

Hi there !
I'm new on this wonderful forum. And very glad to seed so many brillant people on thikpad.

I got a x41T fom ebay past days. Works perfectly but will try to expand it with a HS122JC hd. have already read in this forum how to do it. Now, my problem is thah I want to generate a set of recovery cd's, but cant find the option at access options.

Do someone knows how to make this option available ??

tks in advance !

The F11 at boot is only available when you have an original HDD in the system or one cloned with from an original HDD. Since the original HDD is smallish, that 5GB partition may be removed.

I had a failing HDD. The machine was still under warranty, and I wanted to replace the failing HDD with a larger HDD. I could have sent the machine off the IBM Service for a new HDD with service partition and fresh factory image, but since I wanted a larger HDD this seemed like a lot of trouble, I phoned IBM Support, explained the situation and they sent me a set of recovery disks overnight at no charge. I love IBM Support.
