just ordered 2373 m3u, but now thinking about t43 2668 4EU

i was originally going to order another model, but after reading the posts here about the 2373 m3u, i decided to order it (it wasn't even listed under the regular website or even the epp site).. just got off the phone with ibm and they said it'll be about a week till it ships.. hopefully sooner though! paid $1536 for it plus tax with epp discount.

now, here's my question for you guys..

although i have already ordered the 2373 m3u, i'm still kinda thinking about the t43.. the model t43 i was looking at was the 2668 4EU.. almost the same as the 2373 m3u, only difference i noted was smaller harddrive (not much concern to me) and different video card. 2373 m3u has the radeon 9600 vs. the t43 with the x300. what is the difference? is it worth waiting another month for the t43 to ship? also, the t43 is the NEWER of the two, is this enough reason to hold off (newer = newer technology)? t42 has the 745 1.8, the t43 has the 750 1.86... arghh!!!!

any comments greatly appreciated!

X300 isn't much different than the 9600.

I think I'd stick with the T42.

I am in a similar situation myself. Did they give you any idead on the ETA for the 4EU vs the M3U?

they said it'd be about 4-6 weeks before delivery can start on the 4EU.. that's why i opted to get the 2373 M3U.. also, according to lots of people on this site, and also three of the IBM customer service people, the new T43 doens't perform that much greater than the T42.. in fact, T42 has greater battery life, by about 30 minutes or so..

If I remember correctly, according to the TA Book, the harddrive on the M3U is bigger and faster too.

Yes: 60 GB 7200 RPM vs 40 GB 5400 RPM.

In general, the T43 is heavier than T42 according to the TABOOK.

Also, to me, 7200RPM 60G is far faster than the 40G one.

i'm returning my m3u....will wait a while to order another t43

I will need the ibm wireless card (order separately). I already have a 60g 7200 so i don't care about the hd in the model...
