Message Centre file error

#1 Post by Paul Unger » Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:56 pm

I just got an error message pop-up about a corrupt file in Lenovo's Message Center Plus. The error logs are:

Code: Select all

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Lenovo-Message Center Plus/Admin
Event Category:	(2)
Event ID:	2
Date: 4/19/2010
Time: 6:42:47 AM
User: N/A
Computer:	T61-CTO
Description:
IOException -> Exception message: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
and

Code: Select all

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Lenovo-Message Center Plus/Admin
Event Category:	(2)
Event ID:	2
Date: 4/19/2010
Time: 6:42:47 AM
User: N/A
Computer:	T61-CTO
Description:
Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lenovo\MessageCenterPlus\LocalRepository\Messages\MCPToLTT_ROW\appupdater.exe'. -> Exception message: Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lenovo\MessageCenterPlus\LocalRepository\Messages\MCPToLTT_ROW\appupdater.exe'.

Any idea what's up? First time I've seen anything like this...

Don't know if this helps, but I just checked and appupdater.exe is in MCPToLTT2 rather than MCPToLTT_ROW.

Paul, what happens if you rename MCPToLTT2 to MCPToLTT_ROW?
