power up problem R40

#1 Post by klokluider » Wed Apr 21, 2010 7:29 am

Hello

I recently got an IBM R40 without a HDD. I purchased one and put it in. I started up the machine, which needed a bit of battery loading. Then she started. I installed windows and was copying my data from the older machine to this one. The pasting i did overnight. Next morning the laptop was off, battery light green and i pressed power to start the laptop

No nothing happend. I recently changed the adapter and put in a new battery but this doesnot solve my problem.

when i press the power button nothing happens, only thing visible is power light blinks then stays

anybody any ideas?

I know this is an old thread, but in case someone still has this problem, this is most likely a gpu problem. You could try pressing on certain areas of the case or placing tinfoil between the gpu and the case. Google it for more info.
