T60 time do not go when shutdown / sleep

#1 Post by afcn007 » Sat Apr 24, 2010 8:14 pm

I have a T60 with t2400 1G ram and 945GM, and I reset my battery since it is old, and only have 24% of its design capacity the day before yesterday, and yesterday and today, I found when T60 sleep / shutdown, the time does not run, and the time keeps the same when you boot up next time with the previous time when you shutdown / sleep. Any idea?

The conventional reply to losing time is to replace the CMOS battery, but since it started when you reset your main battery, I'd guess that the main battery is bad. What happens if you remove the main battery then sleep on AC power only?

Without the battery, the same. As the CMOS does not lose when boot, is it a low CMOS battery problem?

It certainly is acting like a weak/bad CMOS battery problem. I'd try to replace it.
