Hard Disk upgrade on Thinkpad R51

#1 Post by didiode » Wed Mar 02, 2005 3:48 pm

Hello -
My brother had gifted me his Thinkpad R51 with 30GB Hard Disk/ 256 MBRAM
Centrino M Processor

I'm planning to upgrade the harddisk by adding another 60GB.

Do i have to remove the old Hard disk and place with a new one ? Or can i add new Hard disk in the Ultra bay section of the laptop ?

Pl advise as i'm not much aware of the upgrade part. :(

Thanks

Yes, you can do that but then you loose DVD/CD drive. It is better to buy new HD (hitachi 60 or 80 GB HD with 7200 RPM is good choice). It will also boost the R51.
Hope this helps
