T43p (V3200) vs. Windows 7

Hi folks,
I am using Windows 7 on my T43p and I miss classic ATI Control Panel from Windows XP - graphics card run well (games also), but that ATI application is missing for me - miscellaneous settings etc... I tried to install proper ATI driver for Windows Vista, but it not runs on Windows 7 so I am using just simple driver from Windows Update. Is there any possibility to get original driver workable on W7?

Strange, I´m typing this in my T43p (see sig below) and windows update picked up the driver automatically immediately after finishing the installation. Installing Lenovo System Update would be also a good idea, me thinks.

Hi Tasurinchi,

yes - W7 picked up the driver automatically immediately after installation. But it is "poor" driver without any possibilities of advanced settings and with lower graphics performance. It's missing i.e. ATI Catalyst Control Center etc... I ran Lenovo System Update and I just received some minor utilities for UltraNav, but not original certified graphics drivers. This is why I am unhappy with that "standard" drivers.

I don't have the ATI catalyst center (I'm not really missing it), but I can watch youtube HD videos without any problems. I haven't tried 720p videos yet. But Windows 7 works snappy and Aero is also activated. This is my WEI:



Doesn't look bad in my opinion for such an "old model"
