I put up a couple tips over on thinkwiki that'll likely help anyone who might be having trouble with linux vs. x100e on:
- audio jack
- bluetooth
- wireless
no rocket science, just common sense stuff. still, better than people having to search all over for it.
incidentally, kubuntu 10.04 works amazing on the silly thing. I was really prepared to hate 10 after the horribleness that was kubuntu 9.x, but 10 is not half bad.
EDIT: updated post title to reflect power manager /EDIT
X100e: audio, wireless, bluetooth. +power manager weirdness

Re: X100e -- audio, wireless, bluetooth -- solutions!
Glad to find you back here, old friend...and to see that you're still the undisputed master of "how to" tweaks when it comes to Linux on ThinkPads...

Re: X100e -- audio, wireless, bluetooth -- solutions!
thanks for the kind words, old friend
one other strange thing I noticed, after installing the power driver and thinkvantage power manager software in windows...
I customized the power manager on its advanced settings. rebooting after that, once linux got to the window manager (in this case the login screen) the LCD faded to pure white and the machine froze.
went back to windows, switched power manager from advanced mode back to basic, set it to full performance. and then linux was happy again.
the power manager software may alter some things permanently in BIOS or CMOS??!? I don't really care to experiment more, as I don't use windows much and don't have too much need for the power manager. but just wanted to give fair warning to people who may dual-boot.
