Installing Intel wireless adapters on T43

#1 Post by darkdragoon » Fri May 21, 2010 6:49 am

So I was trying to install the "Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI)" adpaters on a model 2668-44H,
a T43 that I pick up few days ago but failed number of times and to be franky I'm running out of ideas.

Here is the senerio.

1. Install Win XP.
2. Install Broadcom Ethernet, connect to the net and install the necessary drivers (except for Access Connection.)
3. Upgrade to SP3
4. Install Intel wireless adapter "Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg, 2915abg Mini PCI adapter" from Lenovo site, reboot but found nothing under Device Manager. Wireless isnt working.

My question is which is the correct drive as I've found 3 seperate different names of drivers but not one has the exact match of the Intel wireless card that's on m T43.

Is that any particular order to install the wireless adapters, any tricks to do this right?

Thanks in advanced.

After unpacking the driver files to the hard drive, did you run the setup.exe file?

Thanks for replying. Assuming the correct adapter is the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg. I follow the read me file double-clicked Autorun.EXE from the extracted file. I'm still not sure if thats is the correct driver.

Maybe it's not an Intel card, try the Atheros driver.

Also, make sure the wireless card is not disabled in the BIOS.

Hi dr, BIOS was locked with password. I'm also guessing the wireless card could be disabled becoz I know for a fact that this T43 was a lease equipment returned from my client (a financial institute) where security is everything. I may have to call up the client and ask for the BIO pw.
