USB Stereo Headset - No Sound!

#1 Post by ranjit » Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:38 am

Hi All,

I used to have my stereo headset to playback music. It seems to be gone now! The sound always seems to come from the T42 built-in speakers and not from the headset. What could be the reason? Are there any settings that I could have messed up? I have a USB headset.

Cheers and best regards,
Ranjit

Hi there!

I don't have a solution but I have a similar problem. After restoring my system to factory settings the external USB sound card doesn't seem to work. The sound comes from the internal speakers unless I change the settings from within the application (BSPlayer or Winamp). And if I unplug the external audio I have to change the settings back to SoundMax.

So if anybody has a solution to these sound problems, that would be great.

Maybe the moderators should move this thread to general hardware forum? Or windows OS forum? It might not belong here and that's why we can't get any suggestions. Maybe..

Found out what the problem was. In control panel - sounds and audio devices - audio the box "always use default device" was on. I unchecked it and now it works fine. Ranjit, I think it might be the solution to your problem as well. But you probably found out the same yourself.

Hi Petra,

Yes, I figured out the same! I guess we solved this problem ourselves! I wonder why no one responded to our problem.

Cheers and best regards,
Ranjit
