Hi,
I have met a strange problem. The CPU temperature rises up to 80 degree C after several minutes full speed running. My laptop is T410 RT6 (with I5 540 CPU). Yesterday, I tested another brand new T410 RD6 (with I7 CPU) with the vendor, similar issue appeared. We used the test tool everest. It seems that the over heating of T410 is not a particular case.
I have used many Thinkpad laptops, ranging from T21, Z61, X61, to T61. Those computers usually work well under 60 degree C.
Any advice, please.
Does T410 have problem with CPU over heating?

The i7-620m is rated for 105C.
I have never exceeded 75C with the heatsink clean of dust after I replaced the thermal paste with Arctic Silver 5.
I did however, reach 91C when the heatsink was caked with fine dust.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Another issue confused me is that once I shutdowned the laptop, if the power plug is still connected with the adapter, the bottom on the left (near the USB) gets very hot. If I reboot the computer again, as the fan works, the temperature falls down.

This is a known problem among the new xx10 models.
Get the latest BIOS update to fix this as soon as possible.
