CPU Throttling

#1 Post by Czechnology » Sat Jun 05, 2010 2:09 pm

Hi again!

I've been experiencing problems with the performance of my T400 (2764-CTO: C2D T9400 2.53GHz, ATI Mob. Radeon HD3400).
Often, when the the load is high, the max. CPU frequency is decresed to about 2/3 but even more often, down to 8% which ist just... well, stupid.
Can this settings be editted, or is it just a fixed constraint to prevent overheating? (I set the fan perf. manually via TPFan to the highest level - about 5300rpm - when the load is high). I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed with the air-intake capabilities of the advanced minidock, which imho causes the laptop to run way too hot. I'd love to see it with cooling vents built in...

This matter is very annoying especially in games (I know, I know, TPs are no gaming notebooks, but I don't have any desktop and love flight sims ;) ).

Thanks in advance for all advices!
