Win7 and ThankVantage Power Manager

#1 Post by blinker » Mon Jun 07, 2010 6:59 am

I have a T400 running Win7. Has anyone had any conflicts between Win7's Power control panel and ThinkVantage's Power Manager? Which takes precedence? Do they synchronize their settings in some way? What happens when you change settings in the Windows Power control panel while ThinkVantage's Power Manager is install?

I have had times where I see my laptop first thing in the morning wide awake after a full night of being idle when using ThinkVantage Power Manager - it is set to go to sleep after 1 hour idle time. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks!

On those occasions when it won't sleep, something is running in the background that is preventing power manager from detecting that the Thinkpad has been idle. Try disabling Wake On Lan in two places: in the BIOS config, and in the driver control panel for your ethernet in device manager.
