X300 replacement SSD

#1 Post by alexan07 » Sat Jun 12, 2010 3:12 am

I have an x300 and would like to replace the factory 64gig SSD with a larger one. Is this possible? What are my options?

Thanks for any help!

How big do you want to go and how much do you want to spend?

What size drives will fit? I want at least 128gig if not 160gig. What is the largest SSD available?

The 160GB Intel drive is the largest I think you can get in the 1.8" form factor.

So any 1.8 inch drive will work? I guess I get the Intel X18-M 160gig. Is it fairly easy to install?

Thanks for your help.

Very simple. There is no hard drive caddy or anything. Just removed the cover, slide out the old drive, slide in the new drive and then re-secure the cover back on.

lenovo offers a 256GB 1.8" SSD...
