Battery MaxiMiser versus Powermeter

#1 Post by JonathanGennick » Fri Mar 04, 2005 8:35 pm

I could use some enlightenment. I just rebuilt my X30, and that's caused me to take a look at a number of things I haven't paid attention to in quite awhile. One of those things is power management.

In my system tray are two battery icons: a blue one associated with the Powermeter, and a yellow one associated with MaxiMiser. It's confusing and annoying to have not one, two icons down there for the same thing. Even worse, they don't seem to stay in sych very well.

Earlier today I went to the Power Meter panel and deleted all the built-in power management schemes (such as "High system performance", "super battery saver", etc.). My immediate problem is that I cannot get these to *stay* deleted. When I first deleted them, they were gone from Powermeter, but still there in MaxiMiser. After a hibernate, all the schemes that I'd deleted came back.

So, how do I get rid of all the schemes I do not use?

And why, when I define and choose a custom scheme in the Power Properties, does that scheme not show up in MaxiMiser?
