Are T60 ATI FireGL v5200 motherboards more prone to fail?

#1 Post by ziemeck » Tue Jun 15, 2010 3:35 pm

I have noticed very few "dead" motherboards of other types on ebay, but those with firegl are quire easy to find (as broken t60p's or bottom chassis' with system board) - Intel integrated ones are rare, so x1300 and x1400. Is it just coincidence?
Need to replace T60 LCD? Read this thread.
High-pitched fan noise [viewtopic.php?f=29&t=86763]?

- Fan lubrication [viewtopic.php?f=29&t=87448],
- Fan replacement/reapplying thermal grease [viewtopic.php?f=29&t=80203].

Tough to say, in all honesty.

Having said that, the only T60/p boards that ever failed on me were V5200/5250, all due to VRAM corruption, and all thankfully under warranty...

YMMV, obviously...
