10.6.4 update

#1 Post by Neflem » Thu Jun 17, 2010 9:22 pm

Just a quick post to maybe help out others if/when they update.

Installed the Combo update of 10.6.4 on my 10.6.3 X60 tablet.

Everything is working now, but ran into a few pit falls.

1. make sure you remove the SleepEnabler.kext before you install and reboot.
2. if you use VoodooHDA.kext, make sure you move it or rename it before reboot.
3. for sleep to work, make sure you move or rename AppleLPC.kext.
4. once rebooted move or rename AppleHDA.kext and move back VoodooHDA.kext.

Other than those above, my install is pretty much vanilla.

On a side note: my xbench score was far lower with 10.6.4 than with 10.6.3 :(

10.6.4: 84.63
10.6.3: 105.89

Good luck ladies! :D

Success!!

Figured out my xbench score (by putting my notebook to sleep) ;)

Looks like you will have to replace the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext as well.

When I put my X60 to sleep, I saw that my screen did not come back.
It was very lowly lit - I could make out the what was on the screen just barely.
The same thing occurred with 10.6.3 for me and my solution was to copy back the frame buffer kext.

I replaced the 10.6.4 version of AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext with my 10.6.2 version of AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext.

That was causing the low score.
My xbench is now 119.88 - the fastest score yet!!!
