Very dusty t60...micro vacuum for dust?

#1 Post by patient_ot » Sat Jun 19, 2010 7:25 am

So my 4 year old t60 is very dusty at this point. There is visible dust on the keyboard and when I upgraded the RAM and HDD I noticed a bit of dust on the inside.

I've heard of these micro vacuums that are good for sucking out dust in computers. Are these safe to use without causing any damage to my T60?

Can you recommend a good micro vacuum for me or if that's not a good idea, some other solution to get rid of the dust?

Thanks.

Personally I'd recommend removing the keyboard and hitting the keyboard and the inside of the machine/fan with compressed air. If you leave the keyboard on, it will just blow the debris into the machine.

Braddah I recommend using the canned air to lossen the dust and then blowing it out using a tissue as a filter to avoid accidentially putting saliva on the electronics and shorting it out. BTW the air or vac can actually damage your electronics as could be too forceful.
