R51 Restore and Recovery Help

#1 Post by ricbruggen » Thu Jun 24, 2010 5:05 pm

Hi... Don't know if this has been covered but I need some help with an R51 (2887-AVG). I attempted a factory restore and it got it wrong a couple of times! Now I can't get the blue button or F11 to work. Did manage to install some of XP so it just about runs. I've checked using Disk Management and an IBM-SERVICE partition exists (4.21GB FAT32). Is there any way I can get it to boot from this again? Please can someone help??

I've had that happen to me before. For some reason or another a system restore will fail partway through and end up with a buggy XP installation.

If you have the CDs, my advice is to just start over. You'll end up with a cleaner install.

Thanks for the help. I tracked down a fix for the MBR on the Lenovo website which allowed me to start again.

Thanks again for the reply...
