Newer ThinkPads without hardware volume controls

#1 Post by mujahid7ia » Sun Jun 27, 2010 2:40 pm

Hi

As soon as I received my new T510 I noticed that the volume buttons were now linked to the Windows volume rather than the hardware sound card volume, as it had been on my R50e, R60, T41, etc. I came across this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 17&start=0 ... does anyone know whether installing an old driver as described in the thread would work for the T510 and other newer ThinkPads? If so, which older driver could work on the T510... T60 drivers?

Thanks!

Thinkpads past (not including) the T60 series lack the embedded hardware controller for volume. So no can do.
Current: X220 4291-4BG, T410 2537-R46, T60 1952-F76, T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G
Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U

Oh I see...well, that's a shame. Guess I'll have to get used to this.

Thanks for the reply!
