need help finding a part for T42

i noticed a couple of days ago the the left side of my palm rest was popped up a bit. so i took the palmrest off to see if i can relocate it and i noticed that there is metal brace under the palm rest that was protruding a bit high and causing the bend in palm rest. i tried to straighten it out but i broke it instead. it doesnt seem like a very important part, i think it just gives the palm rest a bit of support. But is there a way to order that part from IBM anyway?
