Cracked WXGA+ Screen on X200s

#1 Post by mcollao » Mon Jun 28, 2010 4:51 pm

So I just had the misfortune of cracking my WXGA+ LED screen. I know replacing it through Lenovo would cost an arm and a leg. And the only option I see is an ebay listing at $430 after shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-LENOVO-X200-X20 ... 325823314?. I can't find any other places that have it in stock or an actual price listing. Are there any other places I can look to compare the price? Or is this the median price for a new WXGA+ screen. I'd prefer to keep the 1440x900 LED goodness..

I don't know if it's fair or median, but these LCDs seem to command a high price based on other threads I've seen here. The $400 range was also mentioned previously. Good luck in your search.

Think you're pretty much hosed on this one. The only ones who've got it are Lenovo and a few authorized parts sellers. You might get lucky on ebay if you can be patient.

Hi,

I too have cracked the LCD screen of my X200s and the part number is: 42T0480. I am looking for any lcd screen that is compatible and is economical.

If someone has found any links for economical replacement, kindly help me.

Thanks
Kabeer.

This might be worth a look. It's only a WXGA screen, but it's a LED and a Thinkpad part. It should be a drop in replacement on the X200s, but I've never done it myself so I don't have any firsthand knowledge.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for replying. But unfortunately, this doesnt match my laptop. Because the connector doesnt match and the position doesnt align. :(

http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-LENOVO-X200-X20 ... 5639239f52 is the URL that has a picture of what my laptop requires.

Thanks
Kabeer.

Hello All,

After scouring the internet, the cheapest led screen that I could find for this was 300 USD including the delivery charges to uk. All the other listings were expensive.

Please note that a variant of x200s comes with affordable lcd screens. These are affordable.

If you have found a better price for these, post the link here.

The website from which I ordered the LED screen is: http://www.microlinksz.com. And I paid through payPal which was easy and reassuring. Overall the transaction went very well and I am pleased with the way my order was handled.

Thanks
Kabeer
