Firefox problems on X300 running W7 Pro 64-Bit

#1 Post by schen » Fri Jul 02, 2010 10:51 am

I've recently switched to an X300 that came loaded with W7 Pro 64-Bit. It's been great so far with the exception of Firefox. When I'm on a website that has a popup (even if I've specifically allowed it), the popup window shows nothing. I've gone to the Tool/Options menu and set the sites to allow the popup as well as Load Images Automatically, but neither changes has helped.

So anytime I have something that has an informational popup like the "message" window from his site or the "Enlarge" picture popup on eBay, I get a blank page. I had W7 32-Bit on my previous T43p, but didn't have this problem at all.

Anyone with thoughts on this?

Schen, have you tried running Firefox in safe mode?

OK, I'm really mystified now! I read a different W7 post that talked about the 64-Bit having trouble with flash, so I tried both versions of IE Explorer, and they both worked. I guess it's just a problem with Firefox.

As far as your present Firefox, I'd be surprised if it wasn't 32bit Firefox and as such is able to run Flash. I have Firefox on my T410 running W7 64bit and it runs flash. What happens at this flash test site? http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Well it looks like I have to wait until they release Firefox 4 then. Thanks for your input.
