Keyboard "woes" !!

#1 Post by WVZR1 » Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:53 pm

My T60 keyboard starting giving me fits last evening! When typing from the bottom line of keys I get the letter followed immediately by a number in this sequence:

z- gets me z1, x-gets me x2, c-gets me c3, v- gets me v4, b- is b, n- is n, m-gets me m7, the ,-gets me 8 and finally the /-gets me 9.

If I keep the key depressed I get the letter and repetitions of the number an example: c33333333333333333

I've uninstalled the keyboard in the device manager with nothing changing. Do I quite simply need a keyboard?

Ideas?

Thanks,
-Dave

Remove the keyboard and reseat the ribbon cable connector at the systemboard. If it still fails then try a new keyboard.

I'd say I need to do the keyboard! Re-seating the ribbon cable accomplished nothing. I thought that was the direction I needed to go but felt I also needed to ask!
