dual channel with same model but different vendors ?

high guys

please i want to make sure of getting dual channel feature from installing to 4BG memory chips (PC3-8500 sodimm DDR3) BUT DIFFERENT VENDORS in the W510?

because i plan to get W510 with only 1 chip 4GB then later i will install another 1 chip 4GB with the same model , but i am sure i will not get the same vendor , that's why i want to ask the experts

Just to piggy back, I have the W700ds. How do I check if I am in Dual channel mode? I have 2 sticks of 2GB, currently Windows XP Pro 32 bit.
