We have found the strangest thing here. We have some T43's (1871-CTO) with 2200bg intel wireless cards in them.
When I boot them up with the power supply attached, the wireless card drivers load and the card functions as it should.
Now here is the weird part, when I unplug the power supply cord from the unit, then boot the T43 into windows on battery power alone, the wireless card drops out and shows up as disabled wireless card with a RED x in device manager. WTF!
If I plug the p\s in with the battery also installed and then boot, the wireless card works.
If i put a brand new battery only, and boot the wireless card works!
The batteries are used, but they hold about an hour of time on each. This is happening on several T43's here with several different used batteries. How can used batteries cause this type of conflict? Anyone else seen this issue before?
Thanks in advance.
IBM T43; WHEN RUNNING ON BATTERY ALONE, WIRELESS CARD DROPS
Re: IBM T43; WHEN RUNNING ON BATTERY ALONE, WIRELESS CARD DROPS
I think this topic needs to be moved to the T4X Series forum where it will get the right attention. This forum is for T4XX models.

Check your power manager (and windows power manager and device manager) that the card is not set to minimum performance or is set to turn off under certain circumstances. Set all 3 for maximum performance and not to turn off.
