Use SIM card from iPhone in W510

Anyone know how I can use my iPhone SIM card in my W510 (I do have the correct hardware)

Which iPhone. The iPhone 4 uses a micro sim while the previous versions of the iPhone use a regular sim card.

Are you sure you have 3G installed in your laptop? Just because there is a place to insert a SIM does not mean you have all the hardware. If it has all the hardware, there is be a real sim card plugged into the slot at the battery. If it is a dummy card, the hardware is not there.

I have the iPhone 3 (regular SIM) and I also have the WWAN card seen with my own eyes under the keyboard.

I have tried just inserting the SIM and trying to connect but it fails.
