Combining the contents of these boards and thinkwiki should be a good way to start your project.

I'd have thought that was obvious; start with the FAQs and How Tos and then work your way through the individual boards' stickies - good luck!

This type of question is very similar to the ones you used to post under your previous username "pccompexpert".

Reminds me of high school research paper: "Be brief, concise, but also thorough."

Trying to be all things to the Thinkpad world is likely to be useless to everyone.

Best to focus in on a particular tidbit and expand.

With this and other boards, wikis, etc., who needs a 'comprehensive guide' from you?

Could you give some kind of definition on what that guide would be, contains or try to acheive ?
"full thinkpad guide" is kinda blurry, at least to my eyes, precise table of contents or goal would help people engage in helping you.

Furthermore and internet search + thinkpads.com & lenovo boards are already such large, convenient and evergrowing knowledge base you know .. it's hard to top

One thing that seems to be rare is low level data, electrical diagrams, components pictures. (I was about to buy a usb microscope to make some nice shots of mainboards I have here)

Good luck though

Cool, thanks for the advice, I wanted to start off with information on how to solve some of the most common problems then go from there.
