Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
Afternoon, 1st timer so be gentle.
I've got a T410 and have been given a Ericsson F3507g card which I has duly been fitted. However, I cannot get XP to recognise that the card is installed. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance Richard

Re: Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
According to the ThinkPad T410 and T410i Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) for model type: 2537 - The Lenovo compatible WWAN module is the Gobi 2000 3G - FRU: 60Y3183. As your Ericsson F3507g is not listed in the HMM, it is more than likely that this device is not being supported within your T410's BIOS whitelist and therefore being blocked. However, you could try taping over Pin20 on the Ericsson to see if the BIOS can see it and hence allow access to it etc.

Hi Richard,
Did you manage to solve this whitelist issue on your t410? i have did the same too by blanking the 20pin, but still couldn't work. I did a flash of bios also from zender and it does not seem to work also.
your advice please. Thanks so much

Did you get this working..?myrsky wrote:Sent you PM.
I've got the same problem. Pin20 doesn't help.
Re: Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
pin20 and whitelist together can solve the problem (I don't know where to download the whitelist BIOS, sorry about that)
But I'd recommend to use GOBI 2000, no hassle, way much better 3G/GPS signal

Re: Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
dealextreme.com is listing an Ericsson F3507 3G card for 32USd, that's one third the price of the Gobi2000. They also claim that there's no need to whitelist the card:
But they do not list the T410 as a compatible model, so that's the only thing preventing me from giving it a go. What do you say, Thinkfriends?"No need to upgrade 1804 ERROR BIOS"

The OP is not in your country and an Gobi 2000 will probably be problematic for them.chairsky wrote:no hassle, way much better 3G/GPS signal

Can I use Gobi 2000 card for T420 or X220 ?
Moded BIOS is a solution for this problems, isn't it ?

@marcus28
Has anyone get this to work at all and would be willing to give us the details? Specially now that there's a supplier selling this card for 32 bucks!!!
I don't think there's a whitelist BIOS version for the T410. Are you talking about the stock BIOS by Lenovo? If so, what version did you update to?I have finally found the newest bios to flash my T410 which make my F3507g works beautifully.

SOLVED: Ericsson F3507g not recognised by T410?
OK, it works! I just got my card from Deal Extreme and was able to get it to work flawlessly.
This is how I did it:
1. Go here and you will download an older Lenovo BIOS - 1.34 - plus a Bios Flash pack.
2. Download and install the older BIOS from Lenovo
3. Download and run the BIOS update pack. Remember to point to a local path for the BIOS back up file and the new rom.
4. Follow the instructions on the readme file.
The machine will restart and the device manager should list the part and a missing driver notice.
5. Download and run the Ericsson latest driver from Lenovo. Thanks mackie1928 @DX for the link!
And that's it!
BTW, I did get the PIN20 taped over, but I dont think it really makes any difference.
