SATA-II patch for X300

#1 Post by AvalonXIII » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:39 pm

A modder name middleton from NBR made a SATA-II patch for the X300 series, in case anybody is interested. Link is here:

Flash at your own risk. Good news for people who don't want to upgrade from X300 to X301 for negligible performance increase.

I had no idea that the X300 had the lower performing SATA I interface. I had it figured for SATA II out of the box.

It had the same chipset as T61 series (965) so I guess Lenovo limits it to SATA-I for uniformity as well :D

Nice find thanks!
I just ran his patch on my t61p and my hard drive score in Win7 went from a 5.3 to a 5.7, I'll try this on my X300 in the AM :D
T60p/x32/t42p/a31p and about 100 more 8)
