X201 Tablet multi touch has vertical lines on screen

I just purchased an X201 Tablet with Multi Touch about one month ago. Suddenly today, there is are some thin blue and purple verticle lines running down the middle of the screen. I had been assuming some type of driver problem. However, I have since noticed that if I pinch the bezel at the top of the screen, the line disappears. Anyone experienced this before?

What you are describing appears to be a defect in the LCD panel, typically a bad electrical connection to the column drivers (transistors, not the software kind). About the only way you can "fix" the problem is to replace the screen. If the system is still under warranty you might be able to have it replaced.
