T23 Fan not working and gets to 70.

#1 Post by djdanrt » Tue Mar 08, 2005 1:08 pm

The thing acts wierd it will gets real hot and go to 70 real quick then go go down to 50-60s sometimes it just stays in the 40s. I swear the fan doesnt come on at all though thats the part i cant figure out. Its like it forces it to 733mhz to cool it down and i have it for max performance (1.13mhz).
It usually stays in the high 50s to low 60s. :?

I have a T41 that works perfect and I can tell when the fan comes on. Is there any way I can test this like the T41 Diagnostics? Any software to manual switch the fan on?

If the fan is fried how much for a new one.

Any help would be appreciated.

T23 Fan acting up.

#3 Post by djdanrt » Wed Mar 09, 2005 1:38 am

Well I ran that diag and it "Passed" everthing including the thermal and fan test. But it still acts wierd in windows. The fan comes on sometimes and doesnt go off when it should and other times it doesnt come on when it should. Maybe the thermal sensor is acting up. ?

Would speedstep software cause this to act wierd. Im going to reinstall. If anyone has any ideas for me to try i'd appreceate it.

Any software to manually switch the fans on?
