The wide screen dream (read nightmare)- a limerick.

Everyday I long for you,
and I scroll more and more,
But I cant see you,
anywhere anymore

I could only imagine,
what a painful decline,
to go from dreamy 4:3,
to the horror of 16:9

even when 16 was followed by 10,
wider is better we were told then,
but tis only when 4's followed by 3
is what suits my eyes and suits me

for I want to see more,
without draggin' the mouse,
& I dont wanna a wide eyed,
photo frame in my house

I want my laptop,
to sit up in my lap,
and not to stretch its legs,
and have a nap

and I hate the bezels,
I could'nt stress more,
for they come off laptops,
when not being an eyesore

One day this mad world will wake up,
from wide nightmare of 16:9,
into the 4:3 reality,
and its a matter of time.


Didn't know how else to express my frustration with the non standard aspect wide screen ratios on thinkpads. The other alternative is to wish that I were a PC manufacturer.
