Mac OSX within Windows?

#1 Post by Yakl » Tue Aug 03, 2010 11:57 pm

Hi,
Just today I was talking to my friend that recently moved to a mac, and he showed me that he could run Windows inside Mac OSX.
I was wondering if vice versa was accomplishable through a virtual booter just like the Mac or not.

Thanks.
Yakl

To run Mac OSX inside Windows you need a virtual machine of Mac OSX. Alternatively, one can set up dual boot Windows/OSX, but, of course, one can´t boot into both OSes at the same time.

Just be aware that there are a few legal issues to consider.

If you want to run a dual boot setup then you'll be violating Apple's license (assuming you have a legal copy of OS X or something), as you're only allowed to run it on Apple hardware. You can legally run OS X Server in VMWare Fusion but not the standard version of the OS. However this doesn't really help as VMWare Fusion is for Mac.

If you want to run OS X, virtual or dual-boot, I'd check out osx86project.
