Mounting removeable 1.8" HDD
Mounting removeable 1.8" HDD
I have a few 1.8" HDDs salvaged from T410s which were upgraded with third-party SSDs. I'd like to use them for backups and occasionally, to boot from. I think I can use use an eSATA adapter or an adapter that fills the CD drive bay (i.e. Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III 43N3412 in the Ultrabay). However, the ultrabay adapter requires a "removable adaptive cover provided with the drive" (perhaps 42W7888, which I've never seen) and eSATA adapters appear to require 2.5" HDD's (e.g. Raven RVS01). I've also read of problems booting or getting BIOS to recognize drives mounted in either of these ways (e.g. this post). Would someone suggest currently purchasable parts that are known to work?
