power cable problem

#1 Post by Nabeel » Sun Aug 08, 2010 7:31 pm

Hey guys,

Seems like my power jack is a bit loose - it wiggles a bit, but I have to force it in pretty hard to get it to charge. Anything I can do about that? I haven't gotten the chance to open it up yet, but before I do, I wanna have some idea of what I can fix...

It's a T61, out of warranty a loong time ago :)

Well. With these symptoms, I'd say that the power-socket has loosened itself from the printcircuit and needs resoldering.
Simple task. Great results.

 Come on. Don't be shy.

Get the HMM, learn your machine's interior and go for it.
Actually it's a great learning process.

Google: "T61 HMM"
Get it. Read it. Discover.
Fixing your own stuff for almost free is such a pleasure.
All you need is a screwdriver, a soldering iron and a brain
Go for it. You'll have some pleasant fun.
