Microsoft Touch Pack on Multitouch X201 Tablet

#1 Post by praetorian » Tue Aug 10, 2010 11:08 am

I just received a new X201 tablet (2985-EYU) which has the multitouch two-finger input. Microsoft Touch Pack was pre-installed but when I try to run it, I get an error "Multitouch Hardware is not available on your computer."

I assume since it was pre-installed that it should work. Anyone else have this problem and know of a fix? I've tried updating/'reinstalling the Wacom Two Finger Touch HID driver but I still get the same error.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm just an update, I had access to another X201 tablet fresh from the factory. I tried running the Microsoft Touch Pack and now it works--no error about multitouch device not detected.

So then I tried running it on the original tablet, and now it also works. Kinda strange but I'm not complaining. :)

At quick glance it's mostly games. And there's a multiouch surface screensaver that mimics water. Pretty neat!
