The C:\ partition on my T42P crapped out, still have the recovery partition. I've ordered a new hard drive. How do I recreate the recovery partition and install NT on the new hard drive? I thought that Rescue and Recovery would let me create a CD set with all the install files on it, but haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

@jimwmsmith: Welcome to the forums!
I have no idea if one can move or copy the R&R partition using Windows. You may be able to do so using a Linux CD. It's certainly worth a try.
However, the idea of R&R was to allow you to recover your system. So if you do regular backups it might be worth trying to recover from the last backup before thinking of moving the partition. A reformat of the C: partition prior to recovery might help.

Re: How do I move the recovery partition
The T42p came with Win NT? wow!
Best bet.. 1st let the recovery partition do its work on the OLD HDD.. Let it restore and install the C:
Then put the new HDD into the laptop and remove old HDD attach via USB / FW and use Acronis True Image to do a Bit by bit Clone. It will auto expand the C: to fill the space and / or give you the option to do so before / during or later.
