Confusion about Lenovo's 256GB SSD(s)

Hi,

I have a question about the 256GB SSD drive(s) that Lenovo offers. I was trying to figure out who is the real manufacturer behind that disk and what the specifications of that disk are (speed, trim support, etc.), but I found contradictory information on the internet. Some pages claim it's a Toshiba disk others say it's a Samsung. I also found different FRU numbers, but on the Lenovo page I can only find one of those numbers in their store. #43N3417 is the one on Lenovo's website, #45N7959 and #45N8207 are the other numbers I found.

Does anybody have some information on this?

Lenovo offers both 1.8" 256gb SSD's. The Toshiba SSD is FRU 45N8207 and the Samsung SSD is FRU 45N7959. The Toshiba part number on the drive is THNS256GG8BAAA-F. I don't have the Samsung part number as the drive remains sealed in the box. If you are interested I have the Toshiba for sale here. I also have the Samsung SSD available for the same price.

Hi Brad,

thanks for your help. Do you also know something about the 43N3417 disk? I wanna buy a new T410s and the dealer offers an upgrade from 128GB SSD to 256GB SSD and that disk would be the 43N3417 (https://www.lapstars.de/product_info.ph ... ts_id=4848).

Are the other disks still sold by Lenovo? On their online shop (US and German shop) I can only find the 43N3417.

The 43N3417 is the Toshiba FRU 45N8207.
