IBM Thinkpad R61e

Hi,
I hav got IBM Thinkpad R61e. One odd day, when i switched it on, it gave me "FAN ERROR". but then when i switched it off, and switched it on again, it started, but its fan was sounding a lot. After few days, it didnt get charged. Probably due to some loose connection of the cord. But yesterday onwards, its not getting charged even. Also when i was working on battery. it by itself got switched off many times. Are all thses problems inter related. Please help me in resolving it. Any help would be profoundly appreciated.

Perhaps the fan has gone bad. You could replace it. The part number is 42W2779.
